International School of Indiana's 2006 Travel Auction
The annual travel auction features a combination live-silent auction format to raise money for the school's activities. Each year, the theme country changes; this year's feature was Argentina.
My assistant and I made 65 portraits in less than two hours, then worked around the ballroom to record the live-auction, the dinner, the dessert parade and the dinner dance.
We worked hard and had a blast, thanks to the school staff who made sure we sat down with other guests for our own nice dinner with wine.
For a set fee, our work included a portrait studio set-up and journalistic-style coverage of the event, then delivery of images on disk within three working days. The school hosts the images on its Web site, where a private log-in allows access to images and ordering... providing an additional way to raise money for the school's programs.
